Working Principle and Classification of Servo Electric Cylinder

With the rapid development of science and technology, servo electric cylinder system is widely used in many equipment industries. Servo electric cylinder is a modular product designed by integrating servo motor and lead screw, which has the characteristics of high-speed response, precise positioning and stable operation. Common types include DC servo electric cylinders, AC servo electric cylinders and stepping servo electric cylinders. Servo electric cylinders are mainly used in experimental equipment, special equipment, precision press-fitting equipment and other fields, and other places that can replace hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. They are upgraded products of hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, such as all-electric multi-degree-of-freedom platforms.

Ⅱ. Working principle of electric cylinder


The working principle of the servo electric cylinder is to use electricity as the direct power source, using various types of motors (such as AC servo motors, stepping servo motors, DC servo motors) to drive different forms of screw (or nut) to rotate, and through the components The helical motion between them is converted into the linear motion of the nut (or lead screw), and then the nut (or lead screw) drives the cylinder or the load to do reciprocating linear motion. The traditional electric cylinder generally uses a motor to drive the screw to rotate, and the screw motion between the components is converted into the linear motion of the nut. In recent years, the emerging "nut reversal" electric cylinder (such as the integral planetary roller screw electric cylinder) adopts the opposite driving method, that is, the driving nut rotates, and the spiral motion between the components is converted into the linear motion of the screw.


Ⅲ. The servo electric cylinder can be divided into two types in terms of shape and structure: linear type and parallel type


1. Linear electric cylinder


The linear electric cylinder integrates servo motor, servo drive, high-precision ball screw or planetary ball screw, modular design and other technologies, and the entire electric cylinder has a compact structure. The servo motor and the transmission screw of the electric cylinder are connected through a coupling, so that the encoder of the servo motor directly feeds back the displacement of the piston rod of the electric cylinder, which reduces the inertia and clearance of the intermediate link, and improves the control performance and control accuracy. The servo motor is integrally connected with the electric cylinder, which is easy to install and set. The main components of the electric cylinder are all high-quality products, with stable performance, low failure rate and high reliability.


2. Parallel electric cylinder


The motor of the parallel electric cylinder is installed in parallel with the cylinder body, and is connected with the transmission screw rod of the electric cylinder through the synchronous belt and synchronous pulley. In addition to the characteristics of the linear electric cylinder, and because of the short overall length, the installation position is relatively small The occasion is more suitable. At the same time, the synchronous belt selected by the parallel electric cylinder has the characteristics of high strength, small gap and long life. The whole electric cylinder has higher control and control precision.
